This is a famous moment in the Odyssey: when Odysseus returned home to Ithaca, he disguised himself - but the aged family servant Eurycleia recognized him by an old scar from a wound he had received as a boy while hunting a wild boar with his grandfather. When he realizes that Eurycleia has recognized him, he swears her to secrecy. Eurycleia then gives Odysseus information he can use to plan his next moves in taking back control of his home.
